Whether you just got a brand new phone, or want to repurpose an older phone, you would think the process for downloading your apps is simple. However, from time-to-time, you may run into the dreaded spinning circle for your downloads. This “Download Pending” error has happened to everyone at some point in time, but here are some ways you can knock the webs out.
Battery life is a gift and a curse on Android phones, as some phones can go for days, while others need to be managed with a fine-toothed comb. Google and other OEM’s have tried to combat this with the likes of Battery Optimization. This essentially puts services “to sleep” when not in use, including the Play Store. If you think Battery Optimization is the culprit, then you’ll want to make sure the Play Store is “not optimized” for it.
- Open the Settings app.
- Tap Apps & Notifications.
- If using a Pixel, tap Special app access.
- Select Battery Optimization.
- At the top, tap the drop-down menu and select All apps.
- Scroll and tap on Google Play Store.
- Select Don’t Optimize and tap Done.
