Whether you just got a brand new phone, or want to repurpose an older phone, you would think the process for downloading your apps is simple. However, from time-to-time, you may run into the dreaded spinning circle for your downloads. This “Download Pending” error has happened to everyone at some point in time, but here are some ways you can knock the webs out.

For the most part, gone are the days where you would have to worry about not being able to download an app if you are using a cellular network. But Google and other OEM’s have implemented a failsafe for those who don’t have unlimited data. You’ll want to adjust the preferences for downloading apps over just Wi-Fi networks or both Wi-Fi and Cellular.

  1. Open the Google Play Store.
  2. Tap the hamburger menu icon in the top left-hand corner.
  3. Tap Settings in the sidebar.
  4. Select App download preference.
  5. Select Over any network.
  6. Tap Done.
