Whether you just got a brand new phone, or want to repurpose an older phone, you would think the process for downloading your apps is simple. However, from time-to-time, you may run into the dreaded spinning circle for your downloads. This “Download Pending” error has happened to everyone at some point in time, but here are some ways you can knock the webs out.

If all else fails, then it’s time to start anew with your smartphone. There might be a rogue app or system-level service that can’t be identified to be causing the problem. As much of a pain as it is, resetting your phone may be the only way to download apps again on your phone.

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Scroll down and select System.
  3. Tap Advanced.
  4. Select Reset options.
  5. Tap Erase all data (factory reset).
  6. Follow the steps.

Of course, this will wipe your device completely, and you will need to confirm that you want everything removed, including your accounts. Once the process has finished, just go back through and set your device up as new.
