13 ways you can fix Google Play Store ‘Download Pending’ error

Whether you just got a brand new phone, or want to repurpose an older phone, you would think the process for downloading your apps is simple. However, from time-to-time, you may run into the dreaded spinning circle for your downloads. This “Download Pending” error has happened to everyone at some point in time, but here are some ways you can knock the webs out.

Keeping in trend with wonkiness in the Play Store, this can also occur if it’s time to clear the cache. Essentially, clearing the cache and data will force the Play Store to act as if it’s being opened for the first time.

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Tap Apps & Notifications.
  3. Select See all apps.
  4. Scroll down and select Google Play Store.
  5. Select Storage & cache.
  6. Tap Clear storage.
  7. Tap Clear cache.
  8. Restart your phone.
