Whether you just got a brand new phone, or want to repurpose an older phone, you would think the process for downloading your apps is simple. However, from time-to-time, you may run into the dreaded spinning circle for your downloads. This “Download Pending” error has happened to everyone at some point in time, but here are some ways you can knock the webs out.

Maybe there’s something going on with your Google account, so you’ll want to try to isolate the problem by removing your primary account. Then, you’ll either want to sign back into your account or use a secondary account.

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Scroll down and tap Accounts.
  3. Locate and select your primary Gmail account.
  4. Tap Remove Account.
  5. Restart your phone.
  6. Go back to the Accounts section in the Settings app.
  7. Tap Add account.

From here, you can either try to log back in with your primary Gmail account, or a secondary account. If you want to try and make sure that the issue has been cleared up, we recommend logging in with a secondary account first. Then, proceed with downloading the app you wanted to.
