Whether you just got a brand new phone, or want to repurpose an older phone, you would think the process for downloading your apps is simple. However, from time-to-time, you may run into the dreaded spinning circle for your downloads. This “Download Pending” error has happened to everyone at some point in time, but here are some ways you can knock the webs out.

For whatever reason, if other apps are stuck in the Download Pending pendulum, then it will stop other apps from even being installed. Here’s what you’ll need to do if other apps are impeding you from trying out something new.

  1. Open the Play Store from your phone.
  2. Tap the hamburger menu icon in the top left-hand corner.
  3. Tap My apps & games.
  4. If any downloads are pending, tap the “Update all” button to update the apps
  5. If an app download appears to be stuck, tap the X to stop the download.
  6. Restart your phone.

After your phone has finished restarting, open the Play Store, and try to download the app again.
