Fring for Android Adds Samsung Epic 4G Support

9

Sprint’s Samsung Epic 4G is the only American Galaxy S smartphone to come with the same front-facing camera found in the international version. It joins the HTC EVO 4G – also on Sprint – that shares the same feature, and Fring’s updated their video calling application to support that. Skype and Fring still haven’t settled their differences, though, so you’ll need to hope whoever you’re calling also has Fring on a device with a front-facing camera (such as the iPhone 4, the upcoming iPod Touch, and select Nokia phones).

The "Google Phone" sounded too awesome to pass up, so I bought a G1. The rest is history. And yes, I know my name isn't Wilson.

  3. Just do it damn it. No one knows how to make these video calls and it’s rarely discussed. I’d like to make calls like on the iPhone commercials, But can’t…

  4. This update fixed the FC issue I was having on my DInc after I loaded a Froyo ROM on it.

  5. Who cares… I use Nimbuzz and get all the Skype goodness I can handle. Including using my Skype Out account.

I have used it on my N1 to another N1 and an EVO. Its easy but without the FFC its impractical

Make sure when trying to video call someone, you actually add their Fring account name, and not just trying to select a number from your existing phonebook. That video call icon wont show up until you do. This may be common knowledge to most, and not worth mentioning…but you would be surprised how many people I had to explain this too…haha.

  8. No FFC… Use a mirror. Not perfect, but usable.

  9. Is there and application that will allow you to video call epic 4G mobile to macbook pro?
