Google seems to be slowly rolling out Allo version 2.0

0

Google Allo was released a couple of months ago to much fanfare. The fanfare quickly turned to a bunch of questions after there were features missing (SMS) making the app feel like it was unfinished.

Google is starting to push out Allo’s latest update slowly to users, but there isn’t much to write home about. The latest update includes a monochrome variant to your chats, a new splash screen, and Android Wear support.

Currently, there isn’t an official changelog of what’s coming to version 2.0, but this is more than likely going to leave some folks unhappy. Although Allo and Google Assistant are handy, it still can’t replace Hangouts in terms of ease of use. Google will need to add SMS support in order to make that a reality.

If you haven’t downloaded Allo yet, hit the big button below. If you want to bypass the wait for Google to send the update to your device, head over to APK Mirror and download version 2.0 now.
