Samsung waterproofed the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, and that’s great, but they still don’t want you using it in water. Still, it’s nice to know it can withstand some punishment. How much punishment can it actually withstand, though?
Well, one person wanted to find out, so he went to the extreme and placed the Galaxy S7 Edge inside a tub of water and stuck it into the freezer for 2 hours. You can see the results in the video above, but in case you wan’t watch it the device came out completely unscathed when he thawed it out.
Everything about the phone functioned normally, from the display to the fingerprint scanner and capacitive buttons. It also looked about as clean as you’d get it from an unopened retail package. We’re not sure why or how you’d ever find yourself in conditions so frozen that your phone would be surrounded by a block of ice, but it’s nice to know your phone won’t be doomed if you do.
