LG wants to “Share the Genius” at May 1st NYC event

It looks like LG is throwing a little shindig in New York City soon. The mobile OEM has started sending invites to press for an event that will take place May 1st. The invitation asks us to “Share the Genius,” though we can’t be too sure of what LG means by that. The invite doesn’t reveal much, natch, but the popular feeling is that this event could serve as the launchpad for the LG Optimus G Pro, the company’s 5.5 inch flagship, here in the United States.

That particular device sports full HD resolution, a quad-core Snapdragon 600 chipset clocked at 1.7GHz, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, a 13 megapixel full HD camera with a 2.1 front-facing camera, Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean and more. Any word on its arrival has been speculation thus far, though, so it wouldn’t be wise to put much stock into the belief that it may finally make its way to the United States in one form or another. Either way, we’ll be at full attention come May 1st to take in whatever LG has to show off.

I’m sorry, but there’s zero excuse for a “flagship” phone with those specs to be shipping with last year’s Android.

    • James Pope

you really think they would do that? be serious. On another note this is the phone ive been waiting for. imo lg optimus g is the best android phone released to date.

      • OptimusL

Yea it’s definitely an amazing phone. I’ve found some good prices online (less than $500) for an unlocked version, but there is also the 4XHD which is $270, so it’s pretty hard to choose. I’ll probably wait till the end of the year till the prices drops even further.
