Did Samsung leave the Galaxy Note 8.0 right under our noses?

30

Either Samsung is having some fun by dropping an image of the Galaxy Note 8.0 right in front of us, or someone forgot that the tablet hasn’t been officially unveiled yet. A relatively bland announcement of a Garnet Red edition of the Galaxy Note 10.1 yesterday featured a relatively bland image of said Garnet Red Galaxy Note 10.1, until you take a closer look at what’s floating in the background.

A tablet that is not Garnet Red nor a Galaxy Note 10.1 (nor Galaxy Note 2) sits looking an awful lot like previous leaks of the Galaxy Note 8.0 and matches the description of the unannounced tablet. Its screen carries a Valentine’s Day message.

So there it is, right under our noses. The Galaxy Note 8.0 in about as official a reveal as we have seen up to this point. There is still plenty of time for Samsung to announce the slate ahead of Mobile World Congress (which seems to be the M.O. of most companies this year), but there aren’t too many secrets left at this point.

  1. It looks……

    soo…..

    ….much the same…. :S

    1. people are comfortable with the same. It worked for Apple

    2. Really, what can you do with a tablet design, a Rectangle with rounded corners is really the only game in town. if you want to purdy it up, that is what cases are for. As well as screen savers, etc…

      1. My point was not so much the boring design…but that a boring design gets a whole article dedicated to it.

I could expect it from the S4, the HTC One, Motorola x Phone, but a whole article for a note 8? imo, it should go into the android overload compilation…but I guess plenty of people are interested, so it is probably just me

    3. They found a design that sells well. Clearly they don’t see any point in changing it.

    1. “nor Galaxy Note 2”

    2. border is too big, and it uses a tablet UI.

      1. poorly cut? could be just a loop of random gnote 10.1 footage

  2. That is one dam Ugly tablet.

    1. because you design so many good ones?

      1. Don’t be “that guy”.

      2. I think you don’t have to be designing many good ones to tell what pretty and ugly is.

    2. I agree. It looks like a giant phone.

      1. I think the bezel is too wide…..

    3. Yea it is. But sadly they have to make the design uber rounded because Apple apparently owns the rectangle. Dugh!!

  3. At least Samsung understands that you need a bezel on a tablet as opposed to Apple and the iPad Mini, which is uncomfortable to hold.

    1. You do need a bezel, I just wish they were about half the size on all the 7″ and 10″ tablets. Samsung has the perfect amount of bezel on the Note 2, midsized phones (4.7-5″) should have about half the bezel as a Note 2 and most current phones, and smaller phones (4-4.5″) should have no bezel at all.

      1. Half the bezel would make it impossible to hold without your hand blocking part of the screen.

        1. Maybe for you, I have a 10″ tablet that has the same size bezel as all other 10″ tablets and it’s way to big for me, half the size would be perfect. I’ve used a Nexus 7 as well and it has way too much bezel (top and bottom, I hold it horizontally) the size of the bezel on the sides would be much better on the ends as well. I hold my phones and tablets with two hands and barely any of my hands are on the front of them.

      2. Bezels the size of your thumb would be useful on all tablets above 7″ or so. Phones would do well to have a smaller bezel on at least one or two ends.

This goes doubly-true when you have a stylus in one hand.

  4. Why would they put a huge ugly physical button on a tablet? Think, people… With screen size of 8″ that button alone would be like an inch long. I still think that all the leaked images are bogus, and have nothing to do with actual tablet. None of current Samsung tablets, or anyone’s tablets have this allocation of speakers and physical buttons.

    1. Because it is not a tablet.

      1. Oh please, no one is that stupid.

  5. that is not the galaxy note 8 previous reports show samsung has opted for physical buttons to and this pic show both virtual and physical while previous pics showed only the physical

  6. That’s the demo one. They want you to believe that’s how it will look.

  7. so much BEZEL!!!!!!!!! looks like courtny love’s lips!!!!!

  8. luxtechblog.blogspot.com

  9. Wait is it a phone?? why does ut have a specker in thr front?? lol

  10. I had been thinking of buying a galaxy note for ages. I read dozens of reviews and this one was great http://search4reviews.net/ , I got my package last week and am very happy. I Would highly recommend to anyone still unsure#
