Vertical Computer Systems Files Suit Against LG, Samsung

v-vcsy

Another day, another Android-related lawsuit. Vertical Computer Systems has taken up beef with Samsung and LG via the U.S. District Court in the Eastern District of Texas. The issue in question is with certain Android products the two companies produce, namely the LG Ally and Samsung Galaxy S and Galaxy Tab.

VCSY has it that two patents, ones relating to “systems for generating applications,” have been infringed upon. The company filed a similar suit against Microsoft previously, which was settled up with Microsoft throwing some dough VCSY’s way. That doesn’t bode well for LG and Samsung.

  1. FUCK OFF WITH THESE PATENTS

  2. They will win or Samsung and LG will have to settle. The patent holder always wins at this court here in Texas. Anytime you see that the court is in East Texas you should already know the deal.

  3. Patents are getting in the way with development -.- !

  4. Now the Ally will never get 2.2. Great.

  5. system for generating applications?a anyone have any idea what this is.

  6. This shows the total failure of the Patent Office. They granted patents on very broad technologies, and now everyone is suing everyone trying to get money or stop the sale of products.

  7. agree with cake:3

  8. In 1960 I filed a patent on a system for generating patents. Now I will sue them all! Muhahahaha!

  9. THEY ARE INFRINGING ON VCSY’S 744 AND 629 PATENTS THE SAME PATENTS MICROSOFT SETTLED ON THE DAY BEFORE A MARKMAN HEARING NEAR THE END OF 2008, IF SOFTIE COULD NOT TAKE DOWN THIS COMPANY WHICH IS TRADING @ .022 PER SHARE I THINK INTERWOVEN, SAMSUNG AND LG WILL BE FORCED TO SIGN LICENSE AGREEMENT OR SUFFER A INJUNCTION

  10. Time to payup … No Brains No Gains !

  11. Well they could have licensed the right to use them, but instead they stole the tech. Microsoft was smart enough to settle. Maybe they’re dumber at LG & Samsung?

  12. LOL U won’t win. Samsung and LG is way too big.

  13. Bigger than Microsoft? you know… that small company who has their OS on probably 75% of the worlds computers?

    yeahhhhh….

  14. This looks more like “a system for generating cash flow”.

  15. Samsung or LG need to buy that company and fire whoever decided to sue them.

  16. ^lol

What does Samsung and LG do that Moto and HTC dont that they werent named in the lawsuit too?

  17. And I dont know about LG, but Samsung is a pretty big company. Dont know if they are bigger than MS tho…

  18. “Well they could have licensed the right to use them, but instead they stole the tech. Microsoft was smart enough to settle. Maybe they’re dumber at LG & Samsung?”

Haha we don’t even know what the patents are about. They are most likely BS anyway. I also very much doubt that LG or Samsung even knew these patents were in existence and that they were infringing on anything.

  19. Myself and a few other guys saw this coming back in 2000.
This company beat Microsoft down and it only took 15 months.
They will easily win here and many more times because they
OWN this new tech. Don’t be ignorant. Instead make millions.
Or don’t. At 3 cents and locked down patents, its a no-brainer unless you believe some of the idiotic comments left here. Do some research and take action. Or don’t. LOL!

  20. to: JC -The bigger they are the more money they pay!!!! LOL
