As rumored, the Tab will be touching down on November 14th at a price of $399.99 on a new two-year contract. At a price of $29.99 per month, users will get unlimited messaging and 2GB of data, while at $59.99 the same applies with a bump up to 5GB of data.

Beginning today the Galaxy Tab is available for pre-order through Sprint stores with the purchase of a $50 gift card. Names will be added to a wait list and invited to complete their Galaxy Tab purchase come the November 14th street date.

Sprint is getting the Tab a few days later than Verizon but with what is arguably a more appealing pricing structure. We just saw Best Buy might be selling a Wi-Fi only version for $499.99. Options, options, options.

Reliability from Sprint 3G
Samsung Galaxy Tab will operate on the Sprint 3G network and customers can be confident in their ability to stay connected. According to the results of a 13-city test conducted by PC World on 3G performance, no one has a more reliable network than Sprint. For the second consecutive year, Sprint’s reliability rates were second-to-none.

PC World’s test involved Sprint, AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile in 13 major cities in all regions of the country during December 2009 and January 2010. In all, roughly 9,000 individual tests of Sprint’s 3G service were conducted from 280 testing locations. Testing sessions were one minute in duration per location, and network performance can be highly variable from neighborhood to neighborhood. In laptop-based tests, Sprint tied with another carrier for first in 3G network reliability.

With the Sprint Free Guarantee, customers can take advantage of Samsung Galaxy Tab for 30 days. If not completely satisfied, customers may return the device within 30 days to get reimbursed for the device purchase and activation fee, get both the early termination and restocking fees waived, and receive a full refund for the monthly service plan charges.2

Sprint also offers online self help through www.sprint.com and proactive data usage email and/or text notifications from Sprint will allow user to manage consumption of data to prevent billing surprises.

Application Developers
A Sprint developer guide for Samsung Galaxy Tab will be available on the Sprint Application Developer website beginning Nov. 14. The developer guide will provide details for an Android 2.2 tablet and how to take advantage of Samsung Galaxy Tab’s unique hardware and software capabilities on the Sprint network.

In addition, Samsung Galaxy Tab development will be featured at the Sprint Developer Conference in breakout sessions, discussed during the Android coding lab and demonstrated in the exhibit hall. 1. I will say this will be perfect for skype. But at somepoint….my regular netbook will still get the brunt of the load. Especially for travel.

  2. LMAO “Sprint Navigation can also be added for $2.99 per day or $9.99”. First of all Google Navigation is free and second of all that would end up making you pay $70 a month. Man this industry is full of rapists.

  3. Oh and add the $30 a month for mobile hotspot and your lookin at a cool C-Note… SMH

  4. I remember when people were calling me stupid back around the 8th of October when I said on contract this could cost between $1300-$1500 over 2 years. All the responses back were only if it had a voice plan. Well, now we have up to $1800+ over 2 years and it’s still not even unlimited data. The plus side is that it is wi fi enabled so hopefully most of the data transfer happens via that method instead of over 3G.

  5. And this is when maybe, just maybe, all those cheap dumbasses that say the sprint tab is too expensive realize you don’t get something for nothing. Looks better to buy it outright for $200 more and then you have no-contract.

  6. @pimpstrong – no one forces you to add those, so stop complaining

  7. @Brad 2 I agree, in the end I think we will find that people who were going to buy the galaxy tab are going to have there pick of how they want to pay for it. And the people who were never going to buy it will continue to piss and moan about price points and/or features. I mean honestly some of these curmudgeons would find something to complain about if someone gave them one for free.

  8. @jb I think if you look, a lot of people that were excited about the Tab, and were really looking forward to it are now disappointed with the cost. Most of them were thinking $399-$499 or so OFF contract and between $99-$299 on contract. These prices are above and well beyond what were estimated/expected even 1 month ago by most of the Android population. The price has caused a lot of previous members to either say they will now hold off for the next best thing, or even go the iPad route.

  9. The pricing is most certainly a turn-off. $60 for 5GB of data, when I have $70 for unlimited with my phone’s plan? Thank God for root+tether. My EeePC will hold me over for mobile webbing, no desire any more for this thing.

Besides, in six months or so, some Chinese manufacturer will have some other tablets for cheap.

  10. Sprint’s retarded data plan pricing will kill this device along with castrating voice and its 3G only capability (no 4G). Was going to snatch one up but not anything and may go ipad instead.
