Android News never sleeps, but even Phandroid editors and bloggers need a break. That’s why since 2007, coverage on week nights and weekends has been slower than weekdays. You’ve probably seen that we’re hiring an International/Overnight News Editor and we’re determined to offer 24/7 coverage, which is why we’re announcing another open position: Weekend News Editor.
Weekend News Editor – Position Details:
- Title: News Editor – Weekend
- Schedule: Saturday/Sunday, specific hours TBD
- Location: anywhere in the world
- Experience: previous tech blogging experience required, preferably with an editorial role
- Age: must be 18+
- Salary: negotiable (based on experience)
Requirements & Expectations:
- Applicants should have a deep passion for consumer technology.
- Android expert: we’re looking for someone who loves everything about Android, has followed the platform’s progress over the years, and has an appetite for learning.
- Excellent writing abilities, superb grammar, proper use of punctuation, and attention to detail are requirements.
- Knowledge and familiarity with social media, content strategy, and SEO.
- Ability to identify and prioritize newsworthy content that qualifies for news coverage.
- Ability to multi-task effectively and work under deadlines at lightning speed.
- Ability to convey ideas through an informative and entertaining writing style that is easy and enjoyable to read.
- Ability/comfort in creating video reviews of applications, devices, events, etc… preferred but not required.
Most of all, we’re seeking a self-starter and go-getter that is eager to go above and beyond to help their team.
