WhatsApp’s AI chatbot rolls out to more beta users

0

AI is all the rage these days, so it wasn’t surprising when back in September, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced plans to introduce AI-powered chats to its services like WhatsApp.

The initial rollout only covered a handful of beta testers, but according to a report from WABetaInfo, the latest beta is expected to see a broader release to more beta users, giving more users a chance to try out the new AI feature in the app.

For those learning about this for the first time, this new AI feature in its current iteration exists as a floating button. Users can tap this button to bring up the AI chatbot where they can then ask it questions. This will be quite useful for certain types of queries, so instead of users having to pull up their phone’s browser and search for the information themselves, they can simply ask the AI chatbot for that information.

We’ve yet to try it out for ourselves since we don’t have the feature on our devices yet, but if you are interested, you can sign up to be one of WhatsApp’s beta testers where you might get a chance to try out this feature ahead of its public release, which at this point in time it is unclear when that will happen.
