Xiaomi’s 12S Phones Arrive Soon, Leica Cameras Included

0

A while back, we mentioned that a Xiaomi and Leica partnership was in the works after the latter’s partnership with Chinese manufacturer Huawei came to an end. It was speculated that the partnership might result in a new addition to Xiaomi’s smartphone line-up, and a new announcement has finally confirmed these rumors.

A teaser from Xiaomi was shared on Chinese social networking site Weibo, featuring an image of three different handsets. Now known under the Xiaomi 12S branding, the device series will feature three phones, which include the Xiaomi 12S base model, 12S Pro, and 12S Ultra. The three phones will be unveiled in an event scheduled on July 4.

Aside from the product renders however, not much details were given about the upcoming phones. The shared photo does match initial leaked photos of the Ultra variant of the phone, which were shared by OnLeaks a while back. It’s speculated that the phone will feature a triple-camera setup including a 50MP primary camera, 48MP ultrawide lens, and a 48MP periscope lens camera.

With all that said, Xiaomi fans can expect to get more information about the phones once the event goes live, such as price, release date, and regional availability.
