IFA 2022 Scheduled for September

With more and more countries lifting travel and event restrictions, it was only a matter of time before we saw major technology trade shows and events make their comeback. A new statement from IFA Berlin (Internationale Funkausstellung Berlin) has announced that the trade show will make its return this year, with many brands confirming their attendance at the event. IFA 2022 is scheduled to take place from September 2-6 at the Messe Berlin exhibition grounds.

The event will be an in-person affair and will feature products from different categories like consumer electronics and smart devices, home appliances, fitness, telecommunications, and more.

According to IFA Executive Director Jens Heithecker, “…it’s finally time to ‘get real’ and once again organize a full-size trade show at the grounds of Messe Berlin and in a city that is not only the capital of Europe’s largest consumer market but evolved as a European media hub as well… Many leading global brands have already committed their participation. As of now, we register high demand for the IFA Fitness & Digital Health area and the Home Appliances section.”

IFA ranks among the top international trade shows for technology and consumer electronics, with companies from all the world over featuring their latest products and software at the event. Major tech publications and news media also attend IFA, which was cancelled last year due to COVID-19.

The height of the COVID-19 pandemic from a couple of years back led to the cancellation of a majority of public events that were scheduled to take place, with a lot of companies hosting their activities and events online or through socially-distanced settings. Aside from IFA, this included major trade shows like the Consumer Electronics Show, Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, the Electronic Entertainment Expo, and even shows from companies like Apple, google and Samsung.
