ZTE Axon 30 and its impressive under-display camera available tomorrow for $499

0

It’s been almost two months since ZTE unwrapped the Axon 30 5G and released it in China. Those who have been wanting to get their hands on it have had to just sit and wait. But the waiting game is finally over, as the ZTE Axon 30 5G is available for purchase across a multitude of countries and regions.

Not to be confused with the Axon 30 Ultra from earlier in the year, the Axon 30 5G is more about showcasing the company’s under-display camera technology more than anything else. After seeing the disappointing result of the Axon 20 last year, the Axon 30 looks to provide a much better uninterrupted experience on the display.

The Axon 30 is equipped with a 6.92-inch AMOLED display, complete with a 120Hz refresh rate and a 360Hz touch-sampling rate. This display also provides a 20.5:9 aspect ratio, and that aforementioned 16MP under-display selfie camera. ZTE is using its “new-generation” technology, which offers a larger 4-in-1 camera, along with a separate algorithm and a dedicated processor just to provide a more fluid experience.

Under the hood, we have the Snapdragon 870 chipset, along with either 8GB or 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of onboard storage. And if you find yourself needing a bit of a performance boost, you’ll now be able to take advantage of “virtual RAM swapping”. This makes use of your onboard storage and provides an additional 5GB of RAM to your device so it can handle anything you need it to.

Other specs and features of the Axon 30 5G include a 64MP primary camera, along with an 8MP ultra-wide lens, a 5MP macro camera, and a 2MP depth sensor. We also have a 4,200mAh battery with 55W fast (wired) charging, and a “triple-ice cooling system” designed to keep your phone from over-heating no matter what you’re doing.

Now for the fun stuff. To celebrate the global launch of the Axon 30 5G, ZTE is offering a few different giveaways over the course of the first 24 hours. These will include “special gifts” ranging from different cases to other prizes, all for being one of the first to pick up the Axon 30.

Pricing for the Axon 30 starts at $499, and it is available for purchase directly from ZTE’s website starting tomorrow.
