Philips Hue makes home entertainment lighting even easier.


Phillips Hue has finally decided that it’s time to elevate your home entertainment experience with the launch of the Philips Hue Play HDMI Sync Box (Try saying that 3 times fast). The newest product from the world leader in lighting, provides a simple way to sync your Philips Hue lights with your TV. Place the sync box between any HDMI device, whether that’s a streaming device, satellite and cable set-top box, game console, Blu-Ray and DVD player or laptop, not to forget you TV. Taking your movies, music, TV shows or video games to the next level with cinematic surround lighting.

Your existing colour capable Philips Hue lights make explosions come alive, add magic to your favourite fairy tales and sync lights to music, all through the new Philips Hue Play HDMI Sync Box. Plug in your Sync Box and open the dedicated Philips Hue Sync mobile app to add this essential device to your Hue ecosystem. Personalise settings via the app, and breathe new life into you Philips Hue lights, whatever you’re watching, playing or listening to. With the ability to connect up to ten Philips Hue colour capable lights, Philips Hue turns your living room in a cinema.

Lighting has long been used to enhance experiences at concerts and the cinema. Until now, it’s been difficult but not impossible to create the same effects at home. However, you can now easily enjoy immersive experiences from the comfort of your couch. Connect up to HDMI devices to the Philips Hue Play HDMI Play Sync Box and watch your lighting come to life. The Philips Hue Play HDMI Play Sync Box is able to switch automatically between the four different HDMI channels, depending on which one is being used at that moment. No delays or lag – just plug in and the experience begins!

The Sync Box has its own dedicated app, allowing you quick access to control the lighting experience with ease.  The app includes setting that will fine tune brightness, as well as the speed and intensity of the light effects. You can automate the device even more by configuring the default settings, making it even easier to use on an everyday basis with your entertainment system.

The Philips Hue Play HDMI Sync Box is available for an eye watering €249.95 / $229.99 from October 15 onward. Availability will be at selected retailers and in the US, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, Luxembourg and Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland.
