HTC releases the Smart display app for the U11+ in the Play Store

The HTC U11+ is coming soon (unless you live in the US) and it’s apparently the HTC-made Pixel 2 XL we never got. Imagine a bigger 2 with smaller bezels and a bigger screen. The phone was announced over a month ago, but it’s still only available for pre-order. However, some of the U11+ apps are showing up in the Play Store.

The U11+ has an OLED display and HTC will be using that display for a feature called “Smart Display.” It’s essentially just their version of an always-on display. it shows the time, date, battery, and notifications when the display is off. HTC has released the Smart Display app to the Play Store, which will make it easy for them to update it.

If you’re interested in the HTC U11+ you can pre-order online for £699. It’s scheduled to ship sometime this month.
