Reminder: HTC 10’s warranty allows you to unlock the bootloader, just like the HTC One A9

This is an important little tidbit for developers out there: the HTC 10’s warranty comes with the awesome clause of not being voided for unlocking the bootloader. If you don’t remember, this was first instated on the HTC One A9, and to much applause.

It’s important to note that this warranty might only apply to the version which you buy unlocked directly through HTC. While the carrier-sold models may support HTC’s warranty, it’s likely going to be up to the carriers to determine whether they’ll want to honor that.

We don’t like living on assumptions, of course, so we’re going to be contacting HTC to see if there are any exceptions to note. That said, if you’re a developer and buying the unlocked version when it becomes available this May, rejoice and have fun!

The "Google Phone" sounded too awesome to pass up, so I bought a G1. The rest is history. And yes, I know my name isn't Wilson.
