It looks like Samsung is toying around with a couple of different names for their forthcoming circular smart watch (which might be known as the Samsung Gear A once it arrives). We already know they’re working on a round Tizen-based interface, but what will it be named?

One previous trademark suggested Wheel UX would be it, and while that’s a pretty catchy name Samsung might be a bit undecided. The company has also trademarked “Circular UX” with a goods and services description of “operating software for wearable digital electronic devices; wearable digital electronic devices comprised primarily of smartphones in the shape of a watch.” We call those “smartwatches” around these parts.

Unfortunately we’re still not 100% certain what we’re to expect out of Samsung’s first circular watch, but a recent SDK update did reveal APIs for a rotating bezel. That’d be neat if implemented correctly, though we’ll have to wait to get a look for ourselves to see what sort of engineering Samsung pulled off to make that happen. That look might come at the company’s August 13th event where they’re expected to announce the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and S6 Edge Plus, but we won’t hold it against them if they don’t.

The "Google Phone" sounded too awesome to pass up, so I bought a G1. The rest is history. And yes, I know my name isn't Wilson.
