Get Carmageddon free for the next 24 hours only [DEAL]

26

Heads up on a quick deal for those of you who aren’t interested in dropping $2 on Carmageddon: you can now get it for free in the Google Play Store! To celebrate the forthcoming launch of Carmageddon: Reincarnation on Steam Early Access, the team thought it’d be cool to offer the classic remastering of the original game for free.

The catch is that you only have 24 hours to take advantage (even less considering the day is halfway over) so don’t delay if you’ve been wanting to check it out. Do note that there is a difference between the free trial version that has been offered from day one and this version. The trial only gives you a taste of what you can expect for full price, so make sure you click this link to download the full, promo version being offered for free.

We were quite excited for the game’s arrival back in 2013, and our thoughts on it now are no different than they are now. It’s not be for the faint of heart, but if you like running over miles of pedestrians and seeing their guts spill all over the pavement, then it’s right up your alley. Give it a go!

The "Google Phone" sounded too awesome to pass up, so I bought a G1. The rest is history. And yes, I know my name isn't Wilson.

  1. Too many games to play, not enough time.

  2. Gamepad support ?

  3. Not compatible with SGS4…bummer!

    1. Just installed it on my Note 3. Its downloading now as I type and its compatible with 3 other android devices which I own.

      1. Yeah I also went back and tried again a little bit later and it went just fine this time.

  5. Says not compatible with my Nexus 4, Nexus 7, Nexus 10, Galaxy Nexus and Galaxy Note 3.

    1. Not sure how I missed that, but good looking out.

    2. I bought is as part of the Humble Mobile Bundle. It works on my Nexus 4.

    3. Now it says compatible and installs.

    4. Off topic, but you have wayyy too many devices :P

      1. Not really, Nexus 4 (wife), Nexus 7 (son), Nexus 10 and Note 3 (mine), and Galaxy Nexus (no longer use).

  6. Same error here……DNA

  7. It installed on my SGS4 and Nexus 7 just fine.

  8. Installed on my G2 just fine, maybe it is region locked?

  9. I’ve had this installed for about a year?

  10. How can they make it free for a limited time? I thought once you put something on the Google Play Store for free, it was permanently free. If they pull the app after a day, how do they propose to allow people who originally downloaded it for free to reinstall?

    1. Well if you notice, they have three seperate versions of the app. The regular One, the Demo one, and this one labeled Promo. So yes, after this 24 hour period, that specific version of the app will not be on the market.

  11. It’s like a gorey Twisted Metal. Sure why not.

  12. Looks like I already bought it at some point… (and played it for 5 mins before forgetting about it)

    1. It’s an alright game, Twisted Metal is much better imo. Also, has anybody ever told you that you look a lot like Jesus…??

      1. Lebowski is Jesus? Duuuuude….

      2. He Jesus Glasses, man! He’s Muscles Glasses from Epic mealtime’s cousin!

  13. Concerned that this will be forgotten and neglected since it’s considered another app and will eventually be removed from the market. I tried an app that gives paid apps free for a day and it worked this way. Paid app had a limited time free app but could only be accessed through the promotion app. All of those never saw an update while the paid ones did. I know this isn’t the same, but kinda burnt me a bit.

  14. Well, this is good if you got the free promo back when it was released. You can update that one finally because it’ll be visible on the Google Play Store for the next 24 hours.

I downloaded the free promo back when it was first released. Now, I’m seeing an update, which I assume means that it’ll have some bug fixes.

  15. i never liked the idea of paid apps being made free, but under a different name. coz then, honestly, its just a different apps. like what others have said… developer can continue to update the ‘real’ paid version and leave this ‘free-paid’ version with no updates and support.

if wanna give free, then give the real deal…
