Demand Exynos Contest Winner Announced!

26

Last week, we kicked Mobile World Congress off by holding a contest asking you to Demand Exynos. Over 600 of you chimed in telling us why you’d demand one of the fastest mobile processors in your next phone.

All of it was for a chance at the Samsung Galaxy Note GT-N7000, a 5.3 inch smartphone with S Pen and the Samsung Exynos 4210 processor. Unfortunately, only one winner could be chosen – at random, mind you – and that winner was  Josh from Oklahoma. For kicks, here’s his winning comment:

I demand Exynos because it has proven itself as a bad son of a gun, and I’m a bad son of a gun, and together we would make Apple fanbois cry out in anger, “Why?! why, Apple?! Why can’t we have Exynos?!?!” :)

It doesn’t hurt that the comment was pretty funny. Congratulations to Josh and thanks for everyone who entered to win! We’d like to give a special thanks to the folks at Samsung LSI for providing the hardware that was up for grabs in this contest. Be on the lookout for more contests in the future to win more great stuff from Phandroid!

The "Google Phone" sounded too awesome to pass up, so I bought a G1. The rest is history. And yes, I know my name isn't Wilson.

  1. first.

  2. PHANDROID ROCKS!!!

  3. There should have been a contest rule that disqualified entrants for terrible grammar. :) Congrats winner!

  4. ^ lol.

Grats to the winner. I’d be more dissapointed if 1. I had actually gotten to enter, and 2. I was on AT&T or an equally crappy GSM network.

  5. By far one of the best winning comments ever. EVER! hahaha

  6. Apple’s A5 is more powerful than Exynos, as well a Tegra 3 and OMAP. So I don’t know why iFans would cry when they have superior hardware…..

    1. LOL.

    2. LOL

    3. It may be now powerful than the current exynos, but we have no idea how powerful the quad core version will be. As for it being more powerful than a Tegra 3, only time will tell. Apple has a history of bending the truth, and at times straight up lying. Apple is a company that does not believe in playing fair and will bash the competition to no end. Only iFans will believe everything Apple says.

As for the contest winner, congrats. Granted I have read better comments, if I remember correctly they did say the winner will be “RANDOMLY” chosen.

      1. What are you talking about? The iPad 2’s GPU [released last year] is more powerful than all Android GPUs, including OMAP, Exynos, and Tegra.

The links posted were benchmarks done by a trustworthy tech website (Anandtech) and it proves that the SGX543MP2 (iPad 2 GPU) is faster than Tegra 3.

The new A5X quad-core GPU is probably the SGX543MP4 (used in the PS Vita) which only be even more powerful.

Fanboys better wait until the new Exynos 5250 and Adreno 320 are released before comparing their chips to Apple’s.

  7. That was a lame ass winning comment i mean the bash apple shit is so 2011

  8. Congrats.

  9. I wish I had known un funny jokes would have won the giveaway. It’s nice to see one of jeff foxworthys writers likes exynos.
here’s a winning comment; Exynos is the opposite of that guys winning comment. I bet the people deciding this contest also think bob saget is funny and edgy.

    1. Looks like somebody’s jimmies got rustled.

      1. lol damn skippy, i want to lose to a good comment. not one that would pass for kids say the darndest things.

  10. Lol congrats

  11. So this contest was a US based contest for the international version?

  12. to that guy that said iphone A5 is a more powerful or however you said it . isnt it only a 800 mhz duel core?

  13. A5 is only 800mhz

  14. Who picks these winners? They need to get out more.

  15. Needs to be compatible with 4G LTE.

  16. I’m not going to let some of the negative comments get me down. I posted that as my entry because I was trying to be funny, never thinking that I would win (I’ve never won anything before). I wish all of you the best of luck in future contests and thank Phandroid and Samsung for making this possible!

  17. exynos is not in the US version. Who wants a crap draggon?

    1. Exynos is in a couple of the US versions. Sprint’s epic 4g touch has the Exynos as well as the original Galaxy S2 that launched for AT&T. Outside of those two, the rest I believe came with the snapdragon.
