Estrella Damm was the beer you drank after you GOT there (quote from the article: “[B]We’re finally here[/B] and are kicking things off right with some Spanish beers (Estrella Damm).”), but the question was: “What was the first beer that the gang drank when we [B]went[/B] to Spain this year?” So, technically the question is about the beer you drank when you were still going to Spain.
Therefore my answer is “Not Estrella Damm”….I do not know what the name of the beer was which the gang drank when you were still on your way, I don’t even know if the gang had a beer when going there, but I sure as hell know that whatever happened…you did not drink Estrella Damm when you were still going there.
I just won! Hand me my Galaxy Nexus now please, thank you very much.

EDIT 2: Untill they can prove that they didn;t drink any beer prior to the Estrella Damm, I still win. Because if they did drink any other beer, during the taxi ride to the airport, or in the airplane itself….that still falls under “went”…..and that beer then wouldn’t have been Estrella Damm, so my answer is still valid.

EDIT3: Tips to help with these kind of contests to level the playing field for those that don’t use it already:
-Read the rules carefully, but quickly
-Disable plugins/processes that might slow down your internet
-Constantly refresh as you wait for the contest to get posted
-Have a separate tab ready at google and type in the search box:”site:phandroid.com ” then don’t press enter…because if the contest is anythign like this one all you need to do is type “spain beer” behind it so you get “site:phandroid.com spain beer” and the 1st result will be the article about the beer they had AFTER they arrived in spain.
p.s. These first come contests are lame….even though I just won this one :D (To be kind, you can even re-distribute the other gifts to other contestants as long as I get my Galaxy Nexus)

With very few exceptions responsible people don’t drink beer on the job. Most get fired. Even more should get fired.

I had a small delay in my answer because everybody was using the search

Not only that. But these speed contests are getting annoying. I don’t

How about some brainstormed ideas for the contest that dont require first to post:
1. A coloring contest
2. Design an app contest (need not to program, but design)
3. phone in a funny place contest
4. Random draw 5 winners contest. (each person gets one item of the prize package)
5. Best use for a chosen app contest
6. Tell your friends contest.
Who else has some?
I’m afraid they may be doing these “first to answer” ones because no judging is required, which makes things a lot easier and less time consuming on their end. It’s great for the winner, yet bitterly frustrating and time-wasting for everyone else. Still, I applaud them for at least hosting the contest and sharing the android love.

These time-based contests are fairly nonsensical, a waste of my feed space and they don’t even have anything to do with Android. Beer? Come on, only if you were promoting an app like Untappd, I could justify. I could justly unlike, unsubscribe, and unfollow, since I get better news and better-administered contests between all the other Android blogs.
i have one, why not have a contest where you can post something funny like a funny picture a joke or something in that category.
and no i don’t have anything that funny that i keep saying this or suggesting this. i just like a laugh once in a while. i think it will be an awesome contest and maybe even better than today’s
