LG Thrill 4G Appears in Target Ad, Priced at $79

1

Though the LG Thrill 4G has been delayed and delayed again, it looks like some retailers still believe it will be released sometime soon. Target has posted the glasses-free 3D big boy up in a recent ad, touting a low price of only $79.99 after signing a two-year agreement. The phone was originally slated for an early August release, and RadioShack even began taking pre-orders for the handset that still remains without an announced release date. The reason for the continual setback remains a mystery.

Back in July, LG handed out at least 100 action-ready Thrill 4G handsets for use in filming a 3D concert documentary. We were in attendance and had some hands-on time with the phone. There was nothing glaringly pre-release about it. Considering the phone is identical to the Optimus 3D, which has been out in other regions of the world for some time now, it is hard to believe the delay could be hardware or software related. If this Target ad is any indication, we could be days away from finding out just when the Thrill 4G will be hitting shelves.

  1. Once they decided on the price point they needed more time to build up their stock and avoid selling out in a week.
