Triple Display Concept Phone is Cool, but One I Don’t See Taking Off [Video]

26

The latest in crazy, whacky concepts is pretty neat – a triple display phone that’s running Android and can fold and bend for different uses. It can be transformed from your traditional slate up to a pyramid of sorts to give you a blocky space-age looking device. And this concept is said to include a full QWERTY keyboard somewhere, but I’m not sure exactly how one would access it.

It’s not that I wouldn’t want something like this to take off – I’m all for the theme that seems to have taken 2011 by storm, innovation – but is this practical enough to be picked up by an R&D firm? I don’t think so. At least not for the foreseeable future. For now, it’s something cool to look at. You can do just that by hitting the play button below. [via Engadget]

  2. My Android phone has 3 homescreens… pretty much the same concept, except that I can swipe my thumb to get to the next screen instead of treating my phone like a butterfly knife.

  3. That is a pretty neat device. I hope some of that technology makes it mainstream at least. Very intriguing.

  13. ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME!?!? That is definitely the coolest thing that I have seen yet this year. I would totally jump all over that thing! It may be a little gimicky for some people, but I think that it has some serious potential and would may a phone more than “just a phone”. Super Cool :)

  14. Most beautiful phone I’ve ever seen, if they can make this happen, people will definitely buy it. With the new processors and screens requiring less power, this could very well happen, soon.

  17. WOW! That’s some innovation! I’m not sure about the piramid but I love the dual screen for typing and what not. I would buy it for that. Just the idea of having a soft qwerty keyboard that doesn’t take up my precious screen space is wicked! I would totally jump on it :)

  18. Like others have said… I like the innovation. Though I doubt we’ll see a product exactly like this, I can see elements of it making it to mainstream.

  25. Working in the wireless industry, I look at all of the phones out today and wonder “where can we go from here?” THIS is where we go from here! I would get this phone day 1!
