The new Pixel dialer app works on some Android 6.0+ phones

0

Google showed off a lot of new stuff with the Pixel and Pixel XL. One of the new things that didn’t get shown off was a redesigned dialer app. The Pixel dialer is an updated version of the Google Phone app exclusively for the Pixel phones (for now). If you have an Android 6.0+ phone, you may be able to try it out right now.

To install the new Pixel dialer, you will need a phone that is compatible with the Google Phone app. If you can install the Google Phone from the Play Store, you will be able to install the Pixel launcher. The next thing you will need is the Pixel launcher APK, which can be found at APKMirror as the latest version of Google Phone. Just install it as an update to the Google Phone app. The go into Settings > Apps and make sure it is the default “Phone app.”

So what’s different in this version? The main menu looks very similar, but when you are in a call things look different. The call screen shows your wallpaper with a blue filter over the top. Incoming calls show the caller’s contact photo as the answer/reject button. You swipe up to answer, swipe down to reject. Does the Pixel dialer work for you?
