Xiaomi’s Mi Note 2 could have 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage

Xiaomi is trying, yet again, to push the bar. The company might be looking to offer a top-end model of the Mi Note 2 that’ll sport a whopping 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, both marks which are still unheard of in today’s common phone (unless you’re announcing phones that’ll never see the light of day).

Anyway, this information comes to us by way of a device screenshot showing information about internals. It’d be ridiculously easy to stage a screenshot like this so we aren’t 100% faithful in its accuracy, but we wouldn’t be surprised if this turned out to be true.

Xiaomi is one of many players in China looking to win the great specs race going on over there. The standard has become 6GB for RAM in high-end phones over there, which is exactly one of the options that is more likely to come from Xiaomi (alongside 64GB of RAM in that model).

We’re still not sure when we can expect to hear more about the Xiaomi Mi Note 2. Xiaomi does have a September 27th event scheduled, but that’s primarily to launch the Mi 5S. There’s no indication that there will be room on the stage for another phone, but here’s hoping.
