Instagram further improves Stories with even more Snapchat features

0

Instagram has begun rolling out a new update to their app that brings even more Snapchat-like features to Stories, a new software feature they rolled out a few weeks ago.

Currently in beta, Instagram is giving users the ability to zoom with one hand by sliding a finger up while recording video, a feature some Snapchat users might not have even known existed. It wasn’t mentioned in their Android release notes, but the Apple Store listing also mentions double tapping to switch between front and rear facing cameras which recording video, something that’s not yet available in the latest beta version for Android.

Instagram also says that, like with most app updates, there’s a handful of other fixes and improvements made to help make Stories better “and faster.” We noticed the video zooming feature caused the app to crash on our OnePlus 3, so it’s clear they still have a few more bugs to iron out before making this available to everyone.

We only have one question Instagram Stories: where the heck are the emoji and stickers?

I've been obsessed with consumer technology for about as long as I can remember, be it video games, photography, or mobile devices. If you can plug it in, I have to own it. Preparing for the day when Android finally becomes self-aware and I get to welcome our new robot overlords.
