5 years in the making: ADWLauncher 2.0 has hit beta

0

ADWLauncher was one of the premier third-party launchers for Android for quite some time. The launcher accrued between 10 to 50 MILLION downloads, but suddenly disappeared. The app was last updated in July of 2013, and now, it has risen from the depths.

ADWLauncher 2.0 has been released in beta form, 5 years after its original launch. The launcher has been written, and reprogrammed from scratch, bringing new features along with it.

Within the blog post from ADW, most of the new features and redesigned interface has been detailed, alongside a helpful video.

Here are some highlights:

  • Added new icons effects section. You can choose image filters and compositions.
  • Dynamic UI coloring using wallpaper colors
  • New desktop transitions
  • Fast scroll app drawer style
  • Improved way to apply internal and external themes
  • Ability to import data from Action Launcher 3, Nova Launcher, Google Now Launcher, etc.

We recommend you opt into the beta via the link below and give ADWLauncher 2.0 a shot, at least for the sake of nostalgia. Keep in mind that this is a beta, so there more than likely be some bugs along the way.

We’ll be sure to bring everyone an in-depth look at the latest update so that you can make a better decision about where this stands in the ranks of today’s launchers.
