This iPhone 5 Parody Video Is Crass, Offensive and Right On The Mark [NSFW]

127

We’ve reached the wee-night hours here at Phandroid and before I bid you adieu, I thought I’d share with you a video I came across during my internet travels. If you’ve been anywhere near an internet connected device today, you’ve no doubt seen predictions, expectations, and hypothesis on what Apple could be unveiling for their latest iPhone release tomorrow morning.

While we don’t expect much from ‘ol Cupertino (we’re sure it wont be anything we haven’t already seen, or experienced with Android), the boys at Mondo Media have put together their “best case scenario” of what Apple will have to do in order to guarantee a successful announcement: hologram Steve Jobs.

If the title of this post wasn’t a good enough indication, let me warn you again: this video is not for the easily offended and is most definitely not suitable for work. For those that find amusement in television shows like South Park or Family Guy, please, continue. Notable quotes from the video include:

3Gizzle! That sh*t was a huge success
Then I sold a butt-load of the 3GizzleS
Number four, ‘nother score, jaws hittin’ the floor,
Y’all acted like you never seen a phone before

FANBOY: “Bullsh**! It’s the same phone as before!
JOBS: Not true! It’s got a new power cord.

We switched the dock up arbitrarily,
So I hope you like buyin’ new accessories.
See the new design- yeah it’s out-of-control
We went nuts and switched it up from black to charcoal {Say what?}

Plus the screen’s two millimeters taller
That’s gotta be worth at least four hundred dollars

I’ll ask you to keep it classy in comments, and please — don’t take anything personal. All in good (semi-tasteless) fun, right? Guess we’ll find out tomorrow if the iPhone 5 will be revolutionary, or will simply attempt to play catch up.

  1. I am not a mac fanboi — never owning any Apple product.

Regardless, that animation was just hugely terrible.

    1. May not be your kind of humor or taste, but the animation was good. Hardly terrible.

    2. Animation is sweet, song is epic and the whole concept is hilarious!

It’s a running joke but this video succeeded in putting a new spin on it. good stuff.

      1. lol….This song is nice…I was pleasantly surprised.

    3. You must dont like or look at South Park then….lol.

    4. Congrats Chris!!! You’re trending on Google news. =)

  2. This is so funny because Chris Chavez.

  3. Not funny at all and in horrible taste. I know the Android defence force is going to come and downvote me for hell for this, but all this Apple bashing is really immature and has nothing to do with Android.

    1. People these days are so uptight. Chill pill brooooo.

    2. I bet you like Larry the cable guy don’t you..

    3. Apple fanboiis bash on android fanboiis just as much as android fanboiis. Its all just a game, nothing serious.

      1. Actually, its always the Capitalist “fandroids” that start hating on Apples Capitalist Products. Shows how sad people are debating over a Mobile.

      2. It’s spelled “fanboy” bro. Thanks

    4. And what about Apple’s lawsuits? Are they in good taste? Today’s Apple is truly a force of evil in the tech industry and such videos need to be made to educate a mind-controlled customer base. Nothing wrong with it. Android has been parodied and lampooned countless times too

      1. What about Microsoft’s lawsuits? Nokia’s? Why is everyone against Apple when all the others do the same? Is it just because the only successful Android OEM is the copycat?

        1. Microsoft and Nokia have successfully banned how many mobile devices in the past two years again?

oh…so…comparing them to Apple isn’t quite the same?

          Well…there you go.

          1. Microsoft and Nokia did not ban other devices because the other makers ended up licensing the technology. Most Android makers pay $15 for every phone to Microsoft. If they didn’t, their phones would be banned.

    5. Then go to the Apple fan page if you don’t like it.

    6. Its not our fault that Apple is easy to make fun of. There are Android parodies out there…..just not as much as Apple ones.

      Blame Apple.

  4. Well, I for one am excited about the new iPhone. More competition for Android. More competition means better products from everyone. It’s better for the consumer.

      1. Congrats! You’re article is trending Google news. :)

    1. yeah, more lawsuits for android too.

    2. I’m excited cause I can use one of my upgrades to get it for 2/300$ sell it on eBay for 1k+, buy a Note 2 and still have more then I started with.

      1. Shhhhhhhh… don’t give away the secret plan!

    3. Yes, except, Apple do not compete, or improve the product, they just improve the legal division and develop new lawsuits to STOP competition.

      1. Umm what? The iPhone has improved a ton over the past 5 years.

        1. Hmm.. in what regard? all of the features its improved on were just copied off of android.

          1. Like the Retina Display and the 64GB storage space?

          2. No one needs 64GB of internal storage, when your platform supports SD card expansion.

          3. Yes Android has that plus SD Cards and Android has 720p and 1080p phones. Apple still doesnt even have a 720p phone LMAO!

          4. Retina Display sucks compared to Super AMOLED, Retina Display only looks better on paper, Android has removable batteries and SD card that can equal or surpass 64gbs of storage.

          5. Only some Android phones have SD card expansion and Super AMOLED is worse (oversaturated colors, less DPI)… Who changes batteries on their phones nowadays?

          6. 99.8% of Android Phones have SD cards. SAMOLED looks so much better in person, So what if on paper iPhone has a high dpi on a small 3.5inch screen that they were just now forced to upgrade to 4inches? The GS3’s colors are very much so better on the Galaxy S3 looking at it in person.

          7. And the new iPhone has 44% more saturation of colors. So obviously crApple is trying to copy the Super AMOLED screen tech. Just sayin’

      2. Look, drinking the Kool-Aid might seem trivial, but you look like a moron with dribble coming down your cheeks and onto your lime-green T-shirt. iOS is absolutely better performing than anything android pre-jellybean. I have five android devices, and this dissimilarity between them in the interface is disgusting. Unmount the USB here on this one, there on that. Wi-Fi Direct here on this, not there at all on this and that. And on and on.

Apple does beat the pants off of android in this. They do lead google to put more resources into making a competing product.

And the other way, the freedom and configurability of android turns even Apple fanbois pale-green with envy. They demand uncensored comics in their AppStore and more freedom in general.

        Don’t poo-poo this marvelous dynamic.

Now if only Apple would give up the litigation angle, this would all accelerate even more. Their “trade and dress” arguments are b…sh..!

        1. That’s true, Apple did a lot for the smartphone industry, and I agree that iOS runs extremely smooth and better than any pre-Jelly Bean Android OS. It’s also a lot easier for Apple to make iOS smooth because they can produce a specific iOS with the exact drivers for the hardware in their phone. It’s rather impossible for Google to do that with 100s if not 1000s of different devices out there.
On the other hand iOS looks pretty, but rather dated.

I have gotten used to many great features of Android that are not and will never be available on iOS because it’s such a restricted OS, but most people are just happy when their camera works so they can upload pictures on facebook, and for that an iPhone will do.

Apple does foster competition big times, and if they would ever stop these ridiculous legal debates, they would screw themselves, because this would mean that Apple has to release 2 iPhones or more per year just to be able to keep 3 steps behind all the Android manufacturers.
Sadly, if the jury is full of people who never even held a smartphone in their hands before, and we have a judge who is completely biased from the get go, and lets Apple getting away with the most ridiculous claims (we patented the rounded corners, common?!!!??!?!) they will keep doing this.

PS: I am accepting donations to raise $10,000 so I can patent 90 degree sharp angles j/k

          1. Pre-Jelly Bean except the Galaxy S3. that thing is sooooth as butter.

    4. Wow, someone who gets it! You are absolutely correct, James.

    5. We can be excited for it, understanding that more competition means better products, while at the same time entertaining a sense a humor about the entire thing.

We live, we laugh, we buy more mobile devices.

    6. Me too, the first iPhone was a revolution and blew me away when I first used it, while I’ve since switched to Android (hell I always wanted a Linux phone before Android existed) I’m always interested to see what devices Apple puts out next. Mainly the hardware is just so sexy, all that stainless steel and glass.

Honestly if the Nexus 4 doesn’t come to Verizon, I’ll probably go back to Apple, no way am I EVER buying a non-Nexus again.

      1. why not swap carrier. It seems to be just america where the networks have a stanglehold on the consumer.

        1. I’ve considered that, unfortunately Verizon is the only carrier I know that I can get signal at my office in NYC. For some odd reason when I had AT&T I had no signal (and yes it’s NYC so it’s ridiculous). If i was still on AT&T I would have the Galaxy Nexus HSPA+.

          1. the amount customers pay as well. I know that if I payed 5 times more for the same services as I do in the UK I would want to have signal even if I was on a plane. Just ridiculous what they get away with.

    7. I wouldn’t count the iPhone 5 as competition. Anything they put out is just trying to play catch up.

    8. In order to have competition, you must have innovative products. Show me the innovation on the new iPhone and I will show you a moon walking duck with go go boots.

    9. You could say that, but it ended up that the Cinco is not really good enough to compete with android, with Cinco’s ooooold tech! Maybe if this phone came out last year, Apple would have had something…

  5. This makes me miss South Park. :( New epi’s soon!

    1. South Park lost its way several seasons ago. American Dad is the isht

  6. They stuffed a ton of little pokes in there. love it.

  7. Funny, and the tune was catchy.

    1. It was catchy. I cant believe someone thought this up though. So much up hype for that company.

  8. Lmao hilarious someone needs to keep these vids coming every year! “it’s the same phone,” “no we changed thecharger port so you better like buying accessories” lmao!

  9. That is quality….

  10. This review of iPhone 5, on the other hand, is VERY SFW!

    http://lessapple.blogspot.com/

    1. No-wonder your advertising your speculations, its pure Garbage.

  11. haha god that was epic :D the tune was awesome :)- though, I think it’s stuck in my head! :/

  12. Slow news day huh

    1. …and I quote:

We’ve reached the wee-night hours here at Phandroid and before I bid you adieu, I thought I’d share with you a video I came across during my internet travels.

What part of that made you think this article would be “news”??

      1. I’m guessing, why read when there’s a picture..?
You should be more understanding, it was extremely taxing for Ironhorse to come up with those four words.

  13. Simply awesome. Just well done.

  14. I thought steve jobs was buddhist, so shouldn’t he not have a spirit and possibly have gotten reincarnated as a worm?

    1. bs.. if you had said rat? i would still feel sorry for rats to be associated with such a pretentious douche..

    2. Or a Barnacle.

  15. It’s all in fun, i laugh at those who take offense to this.

On another note, i was in tears when jobs crushed the galaxy s.

  16. Follow the clues. John Lennon back from the dead. wellaware1.com

  17. In my opinion the general publics stupidity has made apple the most valuable company. There are so many less expensive products with more features. Ask a doctor for advice when you need to know something about your health. But Im am IT professional and even when i tell people iproducts are overpriced garbage they buy them anyway. If i had apples brainwashing power id be rich.

    1. U are the stupid one assuming customers buy phones for the “most features”. I use apples IOS cause I like it more.

      1. Exactly…some fandroids just don’t understand that not everyone wants a derivative, over-sized piece of plastic with a cesspool for an app store. Oh, and not everyone wants to wait half a millennium for an update….

        1. Oh! You managed to turn an “I like it because I like it” into “Android Sucks!”.

          Congratz.

You’ve now completed the “reading into posts only what I want to hear” portion of Trolling 101. Please continue on to the next section, “Name-calling; it’s not just for 3rd graders anymore”.

      2. I think the real problem is that most people are used to the iphone iOS experience, to change over to another device like a Android device they will need to be able to play with the device and try it out, that’s not always possible at a store. but if you can give it a try, and give it more than just a few seconds, you gotta try it out for a bit to really get the feel as your used to one style over the other. Having used my iphone for years now I’m ready for a change. Apples OS isn’t the best out there, its faulty and buggy as the rest, it does have a nice interface though. But Itunes alone is so bad that it’s nearly worth jumping ship for that alone.

  18. best article/video I’ve seen all day :)

  19. I do hope the iphone gets NFC..it would really help the technology take off in the consumer world.
other than that.. I hope it flops

  20. I love it :D…Reminds me of fanboys standing in a long queue to get new iFone cause crApple added some new crappy feature no one cares about….

  21. Sheeeeeeep! They will buy it blindly just like Mac Daddy says!

    1. Tim cook think so.

  22. That just made my week!!

  23. Even though I have no intentions on buying the iphony, I’m curious to see if its the same design that’s been floating for weeks.

  24. LOL at Tim Cook doing the Carlton dance at the end

    1. Okay, I thought I was the only one that caught that. LMMFAO!!!

  25. I have to ask you Chris…..Will you post a video and blog of all the drones standing in line when this thing goes on sale?

    Please?

    1. A video of them in line with this song blaring in the background.

  26. Can’t wait to jailbreak this sheat so its more like an android.

  27. Oh man, THAT was funny!

  28. Nice!

  29. After watching the video, i am thinking of buying iFhone 5!!! Yipee-ki-mot*********

  30. I wonder how many heads have exploded over at iMore in anticipation of this day…

  31. Funny

  32. Didn’t really seem offensive….more so just funny (tea-baggin Bill Gates….lol)

  33. Pretty good rap, and this is will for sure be the better presentation than the one Cook will give later today.

  34. They’re the ones labelled as fanbois, drones, fanatics, yet I’ve yet to see something like this targetted at droid users. The amount of sheer hate against Apple users is scary, and quite depressing. They’re just gadgets. Quit with the insulting.

    1. When Apple’s marketing revolves around their new product actually having something new and innovative to everyone, this might end. They have created this awesome image of themselves through all the BS patent litigation and the fact that their brand new device yet to be released is basically already outdated, but somehow wins the hearts of so many people…just baffles the minds of the anti-fanbois. They are just painting a huge target on themselves like this…just so hard to resist not insulting them!

      1. The truth is that Apple has never created anything original. They just have a time machine and copy others a few years before the original comes out: they copied a Windows 95 PC with the Mac 11 years earlier, they copied a Zune 3 with the iPod 5 years earlier, they copied Android with the iPhone 3 years earlier and so on…

      2. I would wager that marketing isn’t the big factor everyone thinks it is. I for one consider Apple’s marketing to be smarmy and bordeline insulting to my intelligence – but, then, I haven’t watched TV for 5 years and have never bought a product based on press releases or other ‘from the manufacturer’ avenues.

I’m going to go on a tangent here, but your comment, “… is basically already outdated, but somehow wins the hearts of so many people…” reminds me of the whole “Is xxxx the year of Linux on the desktop?” annual trumpeting that happens on Slashdot. Geeks vs regular people. The geeks are battling using the wrong tools, howitzers against submarines. Regular Joe sees two phones: one has the screen brightness a bit higher than the other and has a prettier background. He’s not going to look closer at the pixel count. He doesn’t even know what megahertz are, other than it sounds painful and to be avoided at all costs. Look at the way SD cards and USB drives are packaged now – gone are the detailed specs, instead you see “1,000 photos!” or “50 hours of HD Video!”

Back to the fruitbasket, keep in mind that the US and Europe live in a state of surface luxury with carriers subsidizing prices and buffering people against idiotic mishandling with free barely-any-questions-asked replacements. Hell, you even have upgrades. The result is that these devices are not valued as long term investments.

Me, on the other hand… well, I have to pay full price plus a premium tax. Because of that, I’m always going to go with the purchase that gives me the longest possible use, the best ROI. Every time a major version bump of Android is released, I skim the cream of the crop to see whether it’s time yet to buy in and start developing. At those prices I expect the device to see at least one major 1.0 release, never mind 0.1. No droid manufacturer has that level of support on offer. HTC is looking good, as well as Motorolla, but neither are there yet – though they both trump all the others for build quality. Samsung’s is downright shocking.

Meanwhile, stripped down or not, my 3 year old 3Gs WILL see iOS 6. I paid $1,200 for it on release, importing it on the black market. I am still using it as a remote camera for stop motion/timelapse, as an IP camera, as a remote and a bunch of other stuff. That’s approx $30 per month. Doing the same math for, say, a Galaxy SII or a Note results in a much higher per month cost, and until that drops much lower I’ll still be waiting.

I wonder how many downvotes this post will get, lol.

        1. I agree with you, mostly. But Apple’s marketing made it desirable and interesting to the regular Joe to spend the time learning how to use the Iphone IOS. The fact that all those people bought into that, and invested their time into learning that OS, makes it undesirable to have to switch to another OS on the sheer fact of having to learn a new OS. That is why so many are tied to Apple…as well as having the iTunes account and all of their paid for music and video…they are hooked into the Apple world.
Me, being with Android, have the vast selection of options between many devices, all which will be similar enough to switch to without being tied into the world of one company…one which many companies basically get along (for the most part) and nicely compete with each other. Also, I can use a damn sd card, external storage…that I can swap (I’ve never understood why Apple never had this!?).
Similar to what you have stated, we are basically comparing apples to oranges. Apple seems to be catered toward one type of customer, while Android is catered toward another. What’s the point in comparing specs when one type of customer doesn’t really care (or understand).
I also care a lot about my ROI. I spent $200 (w/ contract of course) on my HTC Evo 4g on release day, run latest Cyanogenmod 7, and have loved it…going on 2.5 years now. I’ll make 3 with this phone, and should have ICS on it as well soon enough, and not long after, Jelly Bean. Price vs Specs, I think I got you…by quite a bit…but this isn’t really a competition, is it?

          1. Haha no, it isn’t. I’m aware of Cyanogenmod, but one reason I’m eyeballing Android is the fact that I’m a jailbreak addict. The day will come when jailbreaking becomes impossible, or so long after an OS release to make it unfeasible. I consider third party OS mods a form of jailbreaking – they do require rooting, after all.

I do not like the default iOS closed nature. I don’t do do theming, I don’t do gimmicky crap, but I do enjoy added functionality (informative lockscreens, SSH, SMB, WiFi scanning) which I would sorely miss. These are there by default on Android – so, despite my relatively vast investment in apps (nothing else, no iTunes music or video in Indonesia, so my 90 Gb of music and 1,000+ movies were acquired through… other means) and hardware I’ll happily buy a ticket once my requirements are met by someone.

          2. :) I believe we see eye to eye then! Eventually, you’ll convert, probably/maybe. I’d have to say it would be a miracle for me to change to an Apple product, but who knows, maybe things will change some day. Maybe when Apple allows other companies to run IOS and competes with them and their hardware (like Google/Motrola is doing, and Microsoft soon enough), we’d see some true competition in what the Apple experience could possibly blossom into. It is just too limited and controlled by one company right now and they do nearly the opposite of what I want.
I could see Apple ruling the world…if…they switched from IOS and used Android, and used a cloned interface of IOS. :) and Apple App Store and Google Play, and Amazon App Store all coexisted on the same platform. and Apple had HTC and Google working with them, rather than against.

  35. Too bad the cartoon left out the fact that Apple used 32,000 Chinese students as “unpaid interns” (as reported in Forbes) to build the most expensive smartphone on the market. Looks like the biggest innovation Apple is presenting is not just how to rehash the same old phone over and over but how to use slave labour in the 21st Century and get away with it.

    1. to build the most expensive smartphone on the market. ”

      Google: Ulysse Nardin’s The Chairman

…but don’t let that stop you from flaming Apple.

      1. You are right, Nardin is the most expensive smartphone and I stand corrected. The iPhone is the second most expensive smartphone on the market and they use slave labour to build it. Is that better?

        1. Sorry. I see my last line should have read:

“Miss the point and keep flaming.”

          1. I am confused here. What point am I missing?

          2. Don’t worry yourself about it. It’ll only distract you from flaming Apple….

          3. How is enlightening readers on Apple’s human rights violations, and yes slave labour is a violation of human rights globally, considered flaming?

          4. You have not enlightened anyone here.

“Phandroid” (In case you missed it…)

Apple haters abound. We’re full up, in fact. Check BetaNews, I hear they could always use some more.

  36. iFhone 5 only for iSheeps lol

  37. iOS is just better (so far). That’s all there is to it. More intuitive and elegant. Android has a few very bad-ass phones, but it’s always been about the OS for me. Otherwise who cares either way? I am kinda surprised at the hate around a phone (except for the lawsuit stuff, which is pretty horrible, and thus, very understandable). Sounds like a lot of people in this post are just frustrated individuals. Why? I am not sure.

    1. Intuitive…..

On the old Win Mo and Android…Blue Tooth is in Wireless n Network settings. iOS? General. How is that intuitive? If one is trying to use Blue Tooth…wouldnt one know its a wireless feature?

  38. One more thing, the video is great. Very well done.

  39. jobs is still a dead guy, cook is a freak, and my Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.0 & ,y Galaxy S III are pure Awesome.

Samsung is the primary reason jobs kicked the bucket, Samsung scared him to death because they have surperior products.

  40. Dude that was just wrong, spot on, but wrong. ROFL
    “2 millimeter worth $400”

  41. Wow. Impressive honest video.

  42. That video was lame as ffffffffff…. I cant believe I wasted battery watching that.

  43. iOS is clearly better than Android. I don’t know why.. it just is… because it’s Apple. Really, the designs, concept, .. everything.. unlike anything I’ve ever seen before in my limited experience with any form of technology, and therefore it is unique and revolutionary.
    – Every Apple fanboy (dripping with sarcasm in case it was missed)

  44. That iphone 5 is really mediocre. lol

  45. Offensive? What was offensive?
Involving Jesus? A little vulgar language?
I guess Steve didn’t meet Mohammed up there. Now, that would have been risky.

  46. that videos is the best i seen, good job.

  47. You posted it! Haha good for u. Its just humor
    I personally love this video

  48. Luvd it.

  49. that was great, needed that laugh

  50. I sent this to my little brother (who owns an Iphone 4s) and I seen him later asked how he liked the video he said “it was clever, I liked it” lmao

  51. omg I laughed my ass off! awesome parody

  52. That black dude in the white vans.

  53. Nice ringtone LOL

  54. OMG. That is so freaking funny.
