Samsung spills their emotion over Galaxy S3 design [VIDEO]

19

While you may think that these OEMs are little more than corporate machines out to make a buck, you have to remember that there are real people behind these different phones, tablets, and other devices we enjoy on a daily basis.

Samsung employed a passionate bunch of individuals to design their most impressive smartphone yet, and they got those folks on video to talk about their experience designing it.

I’m talking about the Samsung Galaxy S3, of course, and while some may have their own reservations on the look and feel of the device, Samsung certainly could have done a lot worse.

The 5 minute video you see above is in Korean, but Samsung graciously includes English subtitles for those of us who don’t have the privilege of knowing that language. Hit that play button above if you’re interested.

The "Google Phone" sounded too awesome to pass up, so I bought a G1. The rest is history. And yes, I know my name isn't Wilson.

  1. FYI: The video above is actually in Korean

    1. :) was wondering why Samsung would have a Japanese video >.<

    2. FYI, that’s actually expected. It is a Korean company. Besides, there are subtitles.

    3. Yea sorry about that. I keep getting them mixed up with Sony.

  2. Apple would never do this. They only allow Timmy C or Jobs to be the mouth piece of Apple, pretending like all aspects of the phone were their OWN idea. As it stands, Apple doesn’t admit to utilizing outside design firms for UI/UX and developing non-working prototypes designs.

Well played Samsung. Way to put a personal side to the company and not just some douchebag yapping how great he is (and apple as a side bar).

  3. Yeah they’re full of $hit with the whole “inspired by nature” this was their true inspiration lol

    1. I’ll admit that Samsung was “heavily inspired” by the iPhone with their Galaxy S phones, but this is just a complete stretch!

  4. Hmm, and what did they come up with? A design that’s not attractive in any way, at least to me, who finds his Galaxy Nexus to have a much better look.

    1. They came up with a design that is extremely thin, extremely comfortable to hold in your hand and up to your ear. Also, a design that led some iPhone users away from the Apple ecosystem.

      1. exactly, i even feel bad when im going out and i put the cover to my s3

  5. All this for a phone with a build quality much worse than HTC phones. I actually like the physical design/quality of the higher end HTC phones much better than the Galaxy S. The One S is especially beautiful.

    1. I’ve owned 3 HTC phones.

All crap. Weird materials…did you see the Incredible 1 and 2? Metal felt like it was coated with the cheapest powder coat available. The HTC Thunderbolt? More like thunder-dud.

I’ll never ever buy another HTC phone.

      1. I think the One S and X are both nice… too bad they aren’t pure Android, I don’t like Sense, or any of that custom crap.

  6. NOW THIS IS NEWS WOW I AM NOW DUMBER

  7. Samsung, make a smaller one with AOSP Android and I’ll consider it.

  8. so this video is saying, if i drop my galaxy S3 on the ground beside some pebbles, i wont be able to find it?

    1. Correct, because someone else is likely to run off with it.

  9. wow, samsung copies the nature. bastards.

  10. Interesting to see Jeeyeun Wang at 2:58. She’s the woman who testified about working 22 hour days while designing for the Galaxy S. Does she look a bit tired, I wonder?
