The HTC EVO Design 4G is the latest HTC phone to get an official bootloader unlock via HTCDev.com. If you were waiting for HTC’s method and want to apply it, this process is usually so simple that people who haven’t rooted a device before will be able to get through it easily. They need to do this with ALL of their phones. unfortunately they’re being stopped by a combination of a) greed and b) the carriers (ahem, Verizon)
Better off waiting for Revolutionary since HTC’s “unlock” doesn’t actually fully unlock.
This is a way for HTC to track who had a voided warranty! Wait for a non-official root.
