I took a quick couple minutes to play with DialCall and show you guys exactly what it does: it turns your T-Mobile G1 (or any Android Phone) into a rotary phone. Its fun to play with for all of twelve seconds until you realize how tedious and annoying it is to use one of these phones. At least it makesĀ  you appreciate modern technology:

There really isn’t too much more to say about this. I wouldn’t recommend downloading it as you’ll probably delete it in frustration after trying to use it… oh… i don’t know… ONE TIME.

Nonetheless, its on the Android Market and awaiting your download.

Hilarious. I would never use it, but it cracked me up.

I should get this and have my grandma use it since she actually still uses this type of phone as her PRIMARY PHONE. Slightly annoying when I’m at her house, but she’s in her 80s and she is awesome so I cut her some slack.

this is where the phrase “dial a number” comes from, as the phone used to literally be a large dial.

    LOL!
    Nifty idea! I like it…
Maybe someone will make an application that emulates a switchboard complete with cables and everything? (maybe not!)
    =)

Now to pair it with this Bluetooth handset: http://www.thinkgeek.com/gadgets/cellphone/8928/

    Awesome retro-ness!!!

Hah. I used one of those as a kid, so I expect I qualify for the OF category.

Just writing my first Android app now.
