When OpenAI might have beaten Google to the punch with the launch of its ChatGPT AI, Google does have the upperhand in the sense that a lot of people use the company’s products and services. This makes it easier for Google’s AI to be adopted by the masses. But it seems that OpenAI wants to challenge Google by launching its own ChatGPT search.
According to a post on Reddit, a user has discovered SSL certificates for the domain “search.chatgpt.com”. Android Authority also discovered that an announcement could be coming on the 9th of May.
While it is unclear what this domain will be used for, the “search” in its name suggests that it could be a search engine powered by ChatGPT. If that is the case, it will be very interesting to see how it fares against Google. Google has already integrated some of its AI into its search engine, so OpenAI’s approach could be similar.
One of the advantages of using AI to search is that it makes finding information a lot faster. This is because the AI can help summarize information almost instantly. This saves users time from having to comb through websites and articles to find the information they need. Either way, hopefully we’ll have more details on the 9th of May.
