Apple Arcade adds many new titles to its catalog in June

0

Apple announced the new games that are hitting its Arcade gaming platform throughout June. Both original titles and App Store success stories are coming out on the tech giant’s subscription service.

A wave of new mobile games is being released on Apple Arcade. The App Store title Bold Moves, which combines world puzzles, match 3, and inspirational quotes, was the first game to hit the platform on June 9. Jet Dragon will follow suit on June 16. This dragon-themed racing adventure game is the only original title added to the platform this month. But more games are set to bolster the service’s library on June 23 and June 30 respectively. Sports games Retro Goal+ and Retro Bowl+ will cater to sports fans with a knack for retro gaming, while wannabe millionaires will challenge themselves with Millionaire Trivia: TV Game+, which conjures up the vibe of a bona fide trivia TV show.

The games above are the first titles to join the platform since Apple released a batch of games in early May. Out of a massive 20 new titles, some were exclusive to Apple Arcade, such as Disney SpellStruck, TMNT Splintered Fate, and Cityscapes: Sim Builder. And Apple released them all at once in one of the biggest additions since the service was introduced.

Launched in September 2019, Apple Arcade quickly became a staple of mobile gaming. Priding itself on its complete absence of micro-transactions and advertisement, the subscription service gives users access to a wide range of mobile titles for as little as $5.99 per month. Family sharing allows subscribers to share access to the platform with up to five other relatives or friends. Besides its lack of in-app purchases, the service boasts an always-on DRM feature, meaning gamers can play any game of their liking offline without time stoppages. And they may start the game on one Apple device before carrying their session over to another (iPhone, Mac, Apple TV, iPad).

Apple Arcade comprises both titles developed exclusively for the platform and fan-favorites free from their ads and in-app purchases. Over 50 games made up the launch line-up, from outer space strategy game Spaceland to roguelike shooter Enter the Gungeon and rhythm game Sayonara Wild Hearts. In 2021, Apple brought several notable App Store classics to the service, like Fruit Ninja Classic+ and Threes!+, one of the best iOS games also joined the list. A clever and stunningly beautiful puzzle game inspired by Japanese prints, Monument Valley had previously won an Apple Design Award.

Fast-forward to 2023, and Apple Arcade offers unlimited access to 200 fun games and counting. From exhilarating racing sims to pop-culture-infused puzzlers and relaxing casual entries, the selection appeals to all types of play styles. Timeless card games also await gamers, such as Solitaire by MobilityWare+.

Contrary to the App Store, classics like poker and blackjack aren’t yet available on the service. But fans of these thrilling tabletop games can try their luck on other online platforms. Reviewing hubs like CasinoBonusCA even offer free guidelines for newcomers. Experts have scoured the web to find the most profitable bonuses and promotions to get started. From no deposit bonuses to cashback deals, hundreds of potential rewards are updated on the regular. And gamers can filter through all casino bonuses listed by software providers, types, and deposit amounts to cut through the noise.

With its growing collection of mobile games for all generations, Apple keeps expanding its gaming footprint. Developers and publishers of note like Konami, Sega, and Capcom have already partnered with the company to create exclusive Arcade games unavailable on other mobile gaming services. And Apple is seemingly taking its gaming component to the next level with the upcoming release of the Apple Vision Pro.

Apple’s first mixed reality headset was just unveiled, and it’s got the tech sphere buzzing. Ushering in a new era of spatial computing, this device resembling an elaborate pair of ski goggles will effortlessly toggle between augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR). Apart from boasting functions like VR FaceTime and immersive entertainment akin to a personal cinema, this futuristic device will also be a gaming platform. Over 100 Apple Arcade titles will be available to Vision Pro owners at launch. But for those gamers unwilling to spend thousands of dollars on a single piece of hardware, hundreds of fun games will remain a click away on Apple’s gaming subscription service.
