Xiaomi’s upcoming electric car looks awfully familiar

0

Xiaomi is known for many electronic gadgets, ranging from phones, computers, home appliances, and more, but it seems that the company is branching out into EVs. In images obtained and shared by Rushlane, this could be our first look at the production-ready version of Xiaomi’s electric car.

For the most part, the design of the car doesn’t look too out there, which we suppose is a good thing. It looks like what you might be able to expect from a modern day car, where it sports some pretty sleek curves, although according to Rushlane, it seems that the design of the car is quite similar to that of the BYD Seal, which in turn looks a bit like the Porsche Taycan.

None of these are bad things, especially if Xiaomi can get the price of the car right. Unfortunately, not much else is known about Xiaomi’s upcoming electric car in terms of specs and features. We did hear a report back in 2021 that the company is expected to begin mass production in the first half of 2024, so if these leaked images are anything to go by, it looks like they are progressing pretty well.

In any case, if the launch in 2024 does indeed happen, hopefully Xiaomi will have more details to share either this year or early next year.
