Password managers are very useful tools for helping you remember passwords as well as helping you generate some stronger ones so that it makes it harder for others to break into your account.
1Password is one of several password managers around and if you are a 1Password user on Android, the company has announced that for 1Password 8, they will be introducing some major changes that might be worth taking a look at.
One of those major changes involves customizing the app’s UI to your liking with the new customizable Home tab. According to the company, they understand that not all users use their app the same way, so allowing users to shift things around a bit so that users can have faster access to the things that they think are important is one of those changes.
The update will also include the ability for users to pin individual fields to the home screen so that they can access certain passwords quicker. 1Password 8 for Android also brings the Watchtower feature to the mobile app so that Android users will be able to get a bird’s-eye view of their passwords and security health, making it easier for users to quickly identify passwords that might be weak or compromised.
The Android version of the app will also be utilizing the new 1Password Core, the same platform that powers the desktop version of the app. This will help make the app more stable, secure, and also faster than before.
Take note that 1Password 8 is still in early preview, but for those who are curious and don’t mind taking it for a test drive, you can download it from the Google Play Store.
