Motorola pushes Android 12 update to mid-ranger Moto G50

0

Usually when it comes to software updates for Android phones, companies tend to prioritize their flagship models. The good news for Motorola owners is that if you bought the company’s mid-range Moto G50, it looks like they have started to push out the Android 12 update for the device.

The build number is S1RF32.27-25 so keep an eye out for it if you haven’t updated your phone yet. Also, at this time of writing it seems that the update is being rolled out in the UK first for the XT2137-1-DS model, so if you’re living outside of the UK, you might have to wait a bit before the update makes its way to you.

Also, we want to point out that this is for the Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 powered Moto G50. Motorola actually has another variant of the phone called the Moto G50 5G which is powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 700 chipset, so if you are using that particular model, this update isn’t for you. The good news is that according to Motorola’s blog, the MediaTek variant is expected to get the Android 12 update too, albeit at a later date.

We’re not sure when Motorola is expected to start rolling out the update for the G50 in other markets outside of the UK, but presumably with the rollout in the UK starting, it shouldn’t be too long before we see it available in other parts of the world.
