We’ll have to wait until October for the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro

There was a sketchy rumor floating about earlier in the week that claimed Google would be releasing the Pixel 6 series on September 13th, the day before the iPhone 13 is expected to be announced. Jon Prosser of FrontPageTech has since come out with a couple of rumors of his own, stating that the phones won’t ship until the end of October.

The previous leak came via a “leaker” that doesn’t have much of a track record, so Prosser set to reach out to his sources to confirm. According to Prosser’s source, pre-orders for the devices will begin on October 19th before officially hitting the market on October 28th.

Unfortunately, Prosser couldn’t confirm whether the Google event will also be held on the 19th. But it wouldn’t come as too much of a surprise given that’s what we usually see from phone makers. He did share that he’ll “have an update regarding what day to expect an event to happen”.

For all the rage around the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3 right now, Google could really steal the show this fall. I’m keeping my fingers crossed, but the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro could be the most exciting devices of the year. And Google has a lot riding on this release if it plans to take over some of the market share left by LG.
