There are times when you are out friends and family and someone gets stuck with the bill and it’s not always convenient. Use one of the apps below to send a quick message requesting from your friend their portion of the bill. These are some of our favorite apps to use to quickly send and receive money. Let us know your favorite in the comments.
Square Cash
The Cash App is so much more than an app to quickly send money to your family and friends. Sign up for a free debit card and receive Cash Boost discounts at many of your favorite stores. Receive paychecks up to two days early when you use your Cash App balance. If you like to invest your money, the app lets you buy, sell, and track stocks commission-free. Finally, the Cash App allows you to buy, sell, deposit, and withdraw cryptocurrency.
Zelle
Zelle partnered with many U.S. financial institutions to provide users a fast and secure way to send money to friends and family. Financial institutions offering Zelle have it included in their mobile app or online. The process to send money is simple: enroll via a credit/debit card or your checking account, select a person by entering their email or phone number, confirm the amount, and hit send.
Google Pay
Google Pay is another way to send money to friends and family. Your Google Pay account can be used in numerous ways but I want to focus on the sending and receiving money feature. Link Google Pay to your financial institution and send or request money with just a few clicks. As they are Google products, you can even make requests via Android Messages or Gmail. Google Pay lets you request money from up to five people for those times you are with friends and they try to stick you with the bill.
PayPal: Mobile Cash
PayPal is one of the most popular methods to pay for merchandise over the internet. However, the PayPal Mobile Cash app lets you send and receive money using a couple of different methods. First, create a QR code, and others with the app can scan the card and send you money. Additionally, type a name, email, or phone number to send money to friends and family. PayPal will even search and help you find the right person.
Venmo
Venmo may be the last app in this list but it’s probably my most used way to send money to friends and family. Easily add a note when sending money to track the reason it was sent. Use Venmo to pay with some of your favorite online apps like Uber and GrubHub. Venmo also offers a card that can be used anywhere Mastercard is accepted.
