Samsung Galaxy Z Flip sales have exceeded expectations

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip has recently gone on sale. Whether or not you believe the reports that the handset managed to sell out is up to you, but it seems that sales for the device have managed to exceed the company’s expectations. This is according to Jennifer Safruk, Samsung Canada’s VP of Mobile Business who said:

“This phone changes everything. We’re thrilled by the response from Canadians for the Galaxy Z Flip. Compact, beautiful and powerful, the Galaxy Z Flip gives consumers a new perspective on everything a phone can do.”

For those who are hearing about this for the first time, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip is Samsung’s second foldable smartphone. Unlike the first Galaxy Fold, which transforms from a smartphone into a tablet and into a smartphone again, the Galaxy Z Flip is a clamshell device that takes a smartphone and makes it into an even smaller and more compact device when folded.

There were initially some reports that questioned the durability of the display, where users were report some issues early on, but putting that aside, there have been some reviews that are particularly favorable. The fact that it is also cheaper than the Galaxy Fold probably helped sway some users over.

Samsung is still on track to release the successor to the Galaxy Fold later this year where it could sport a new under-display camera.
