KitchenAid Smart Display brings Google Assistant to your kitchen on a 10-inch display

0

KitchenAid has announced a new smart display powered by Google Assistant. While the company isn’t in the business of making smart devices, it’s an announcement that makes perfect sense. Home appliance companies are stuffing smart home tech into new appliances, so a standalone smart product for the kitchen is a logical step to take.

Normally you’d ignore a company trying its hand at a smart home product when we have established names like Google building the Google Home Hub, this smart display stands out with its massive 10-inch display. You want a big display in the kitchen and this feature alone may make it worth the buy.

Otherwise it’s the same as you’d expect from any Google Assistant-powered smart display. It also feature splash resistance so you can wipe it down if it gets a little messy. We hope the speakers are excellent to complete the package.

The device will be launching in Q2 of 2019 for somewhere between $200 and $300. It’s pricey, but it also comes with access to Yummly as a bonus. We can’t imagine too many people will use this, as Google does its own recipe integration, but it’s a nice option nonetheless.
