Disney’s AR Emoji now available for the Galaxy S9 and S9+

0

Let’s be honest, Samsung’s new AR Emoji on the Galaxy S9/S9+ are little more than cheap knock-offs of the iPhone X’s Animoji. Yup, I said it. Samsung does make an attempt to 1-up Apple by allowing users to create their own augmented reality characters based on their likeness.

It’s a nice personal touch, but in most cases they come off creepy and sort of weird looking. That looks to change with the addition of new AR Emoji just about everyone will love.

Samsung is adding new AR Emoji to the existing 18 from none other than Disney. These were actually shown off during Samsung’s Galaxy S9 event, so there’s no real surprises here.

It’s only Mickey and Minnie that are available at the moment, but Samsung says you can expect all sorts of characters from your favorite Disney movies like The Incredibles, Zootopia, and Frozen to be added throughout the year.

Mickey and Minnie are officially available to download starting today, the same day the Galaxy S9 and S9+ became available in stores. Coincidence? I think not.
