Earlier this year, LG was making headlines for all the wrong reasons as the company was hit with a series of class-action lawsuits. These lawsuits spanned across multiple devices, including the LG G4, V10, V20, and Nexus 5X due to bootloop issues which were confirmed as a defect by LG itself.
These issues also couldn’t be easily rectified because LG’s refurbished units that were sent as replacements, also suffered from the same issues. However, there may be some good news on the horizon as one lawsuit has been dropped.
According to Android Police, Chimicles & Tikellis LLP has filed for a “voluntary dismissal” of its lawsuit regarding the Nexus 5X. The reason for the lawsuit being dropped is due to LG’s commitment to repair, replace, or offer complete refunds for owners of the device.
This is great news for LG, but is also a good indication of how much LG cares about its users to the point that they are seemingly pulling out all the stops to make things right. There are other lawsuits that are reportedly still ongoing, but there haven’t been any significant updates on those fronts as of yet.
Let us know if you have been affected by these bootloop issues and if you were able to see the issue rectified, or if you’re still battling to get things resolved.
