Verizon will hike prices on their plans by as much as $10 this week [RUMOR]

Big Red has some big changes in store for their latest plans. Droid-Life is reporting that they’re readying a price increase of $5 to $10 on their standard size-marked plans. Here’s a full list of the bumps:

  • S: 2GB for $35 (was 1GB for $30)
  • M: 4GB for $50 (was 3GB for $45)
  • L: 8GB for $70 (was 6GB for $60)
  • XL: 16GB for $90 (was 12GB for $80)
  • XXL: 24GB for $110 (was 18GB for $100)

As you can see, the price increase does come with a bigger pool of data to compensate, so Verizon’s hoping you won’t see it as another attempt to snatch more money out of your pockets.

Beyond the data, Verizon is also supposedly going to introduce the changes we heard about last week, including rollover data and a new “safe mode” that should help eliminate surprise overages. We’re said to be getting all of this July 7th, so stay tuned.
