We’re still waiting on more substantial information regarding the Samsung Galaxy Note 7. Rumors say Samsung has decided to go with an Edge display and do a number jump to bring its marketing in line with the Samsung Galaxy Note 7, but is any of it true?
We’re not sure, but yet another leak has appeared that attempts to shed some light on things. This image shows a curved edge device with a pen hovering above it. Beneath it is the text “Write on the Edge of something Great.”
PhoneArena — our benefactor for today’s leak — seems convinced it’s legit, but let’s talk about this for a minute. While that play on words in the tagline does seem like something directly out of Samsung’s marketing offices, there’s a lot here that we take issue with:
- The overuse of that blue glow surrounding the S-Pen, the phone, and the text are eye-bleedingly bad. It’s so bad that we had to use an eye-bleedingly fake word to describe it. We’re not sure Samsung would approve.
- Speaking of the S-Pen, it looks rather thick for an S-Pen.
- And speaking of the phone, why the hell is the S-Pen trying to write on the rear of it?
- Oh, and PhoneArena somehow claims this image confirms the “Galaxy Note 7” name, but we’re not sure how. There’s no mention of the number in the photo anywhere unless you’re looking way too deep into the way the phone’s curvature and that overdone glow looks in this particular orientation.
While we have a lot of faith in all the rumors we’ve heard to date, we’re not ready to place our bets based on this and one other particular leak from the past alone. We’ll keep patiently waiting.
