HTC Vive “Business Edition” launches for $1200

0

There’s a new HTC Vive model on the block. Sort of. HTC today unveiled the HTC Vive Business Edition. It costs a hefty $1,200 — a full $400 over its consumer retail counterpart — but there are some benefits for businesses to go this route:

  • Extra accessories, including 2 Vive controllers, 2 base stations and 4 face cushions
  • Dedicated support line
  • Commercial licenses for building business apps
  • The ability to buy more than one at a time

HTC’s goal here is to help Vive find a place in enterprise. They highlighted one company who is creating a collaboration tool for use inside the Vive. We’re not sure a VR collaboration space is more necessary than simple whiteboarding and document sharing, but hey, we’re game.

Businesses in the US, Canada, UK, Germany and France will be able to get their hands on it later this month, while others will have to white a while longer.
