ASUS has 3 different Zenfone 3 variants in the works

0

We know ASUS has something big coming May 30th, but today we get more details on their plans. Speaking with DigiTimes, CEO Jerry Shen confirmed the company has 3 new Zenfone variants in the works, and that they’ll all be running either Qualcomm or MediaTek chipsets in some form. They handsets are also due out in June.

This isn’t the first time ASUS has crowded their lineup with device variants. They typically don’t tend to broaden the spectrum wide enough so that getting one device over another is a difficult choice, but things could change in 2016 if they are adding MediaTek into the mix.

Another interesting point: if Intel isn’t going to be in these phones, then ASUS is likely co-branding their launch events due to a computer or tablet. Are we finally going to get our dual-boot Windows/Android love child? That’d be the dream, but we’re going to remain doubtful based on historic consistency. Onward to May 30th.
